Tanya Marie Richards

August 24, 1984 – October 18, 2016

Tanya Richards, 32 years old unexpectedly passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016 in Placentia while in the comfort of her home.

Tanya was born in Orange CA on August 24, 1984 to Steve & Karen Richards.

She was baptized on May 11, 1986 as a Roman Catholic in Anaheim at Saint Boniface Church.

She was survived by her loving life partner, Matthew Gogin and her only son Steven Michael Gogin along with her parents Steve & Karen Richards and her brother Kerry. She is also survived by Larry & Elaine Richards and Alan & Lorraine Wardell.

She was the youngest female to graduate from the Orange County Sherriff Training Academy.  She was also the youngest female fugitive recovery agent in the State of California at the age of 19.

She quickly became one of the most successful fugitive recovery agents in Southern California gaining the attention of various government agencies as well as several police departments in Southern California.  She had been asked to advise and assist in the apprehension of many dangerous and high profile criminals throughout the nation.

She received several awards for her accomplishments including a Letter of Accommodation from Chef William Bratton, Chief of Police, LAPD.

Additionally, she became a well-known bail bonds agent and helped many people during her career.

Aside from believing in the criminal justice system and people’s civil rights & due process, she also volunteered for the Red Cross, Salvation Army and helping those less fortunate.

She was a great artist with natural talent.  After being a veteran of the bail industry she recently started to pursue her passion for art and had started to create an incredible portfolio. She donated proceeds of sales to the Ronald McDonald Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation and various Veteran Associations.

She was an advocate for people with disabilities.

Aside from being an animal lover she never hesitated to rescue an animal in need, nurturing back to health and finding a home for them.

Her favorite color was pink.  Her favorite flower were daises.

She was a strikingly beautiful woman who was known for her generosity & kindness.  She was selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. Of course, she was also known for her sun glasses and shoes!

Her love for her son, Steven, was endearing and brought her the most joy.

She was a very loving woman that touched the hearts of so many and made everyone know she cared about them.

She is at peace now where her spirit will enlighten the angles above.

“God may have you in his keeping, but I will have you in my heart forever. Tanya, I love you and you will be forever missed and not ever forgotten.” From your loving partner, Matthew Gogin.

A charitable fund is being established for Tanya’s son, Steven Michael Gogin.  Steven will soon undergo several needed extensive orthopedic surgeries to correct his congenital orthopedic disorders.
