Capitola Klutz Nowitzky, 86, died Apr. 7, 2016 in Granada Hills, Calif. Born in Salisbury, N.C., on Aug. 2, 1929, Cappy was daughter of the late Stoner W. Klutz and the late Capitola Caldwell. Her siblings included Isabel Goodall, Joyce C. Bradshaw, Stoner W. Klutz, Jr., Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Joy, and Mary Nell Klutz.

She met and married her late husband Albin M. Nowitzky in Norfolk, Va. After World War II, the couple spent time in Baltimore, and then ultimately moved to Southern California. The couple would in due course raise their five children there. Cappy made a wonderful home for her children in La Habra, Chatsworth, Northridge, and Simi Valley, until her husband Albin passed away in 1991. Years later, Cappy met her new friend and eventual partner Ronald Webster in Pacoima, with whom she spent a great deal of her time and devotion. Cappy loved to read novels, play piano, and tend her garden. She was known for her inclusive personality, and took great effort at avoiding the act of judging other people.

She is survived by her children Aletha A. Nowitzky, Curtis G. Nowitzky, A. Mark Nowitzky, Thomas E. Nowitzky, and Christine J. Nowitzky; her grandchildren Vanessa M.M.A. Nowitzky, Joshua T. Nowitzky, Joel S. Nowitzky, Vincent N. Swanson, Natasha M. Swanson, Zacharias K. Nowitzky, Elias A. Nowitzky, and Juliana N. Nowitzky; and her great grandchildren Aiden Nowitzky and Jude Nowitzky.

A private memorial service is planned for Apr. 13, 2016, at Morro Bay, Calif.
