Felisa (Fely) Reed Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Felisa F. Reed, who left us peacefully on March 16th, 2025, at the age of 96. Mom was born on May 28th, 1928, in the Philippines, and migrated to the United States in the late 60's.

Felisa (aka Fely) will always be remembered as a kind-hearted soul whose warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. As schoolteacher in the Philippines and retired Kmart accountant, that was her day-job. Mom had a ministry at Calvary Baptist Church (Gardena, CA) teaching generations of people the Bible, a constant prayer warrior, working the soup kitchen, and managing the finances of the church – was her real passion and calling. She later attended South Bay Community Church to help where she could plus it was a short walk from her home in Torrance, CA.

Felisa is survived by her only-son, her daughter in-law, and 3 adult grandchildren + spouse. Of 5 sisters, only two youngest survive her, Nena and Aurea. She was a daughter, wife, a mom, a grandmother, a sister, a dear friend to many.

A remembrance gathering will be held for immediate family along with a church service, to be determined at a future date.

Though a loss for those on this earth, we believe she is busy un-packing her crowns, rekindling old friendships, seeing her parents along with her brother and sisters, again. Mom no longer needs to pray, for she IS in the presence of her God.
