Olga Whorton, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family. Olga will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and steadfast devotion to her loved ones. As the matriarch of her family, she served as a guiding light and the unbreakable bond that held everyone together. Born on August 17,1936 in Nacaome, Honduras, Olga was the eldest of ten children to Jose' A. Pineda Santos and Graciela Green Gutierrez.
She attended college in Honduras and began her professional journey as an Executive Secretary for a fruit industry corporation.
In 1967, Olga courageously relocated to Los Angeles, California, working diligently to establish a new life. Two years later, she was able to bring her five children, as well as many of her siblings, to join her in Los Angeles. Olga balanced her work as a seamstress while pursuing her education, ultimately earning an associate's degree in liberal arts.
Her dedication to service led her to a career as a Private Duty nurse, where she was deeply admired by those she cared for because of her loyalty, commitment, and remarkable work ethic. Olga's unwavering faith, love for God, and passion for family and service defined her life, as did her joy for ballroom dancing.
Throughout her journey, Olga faced challenges with grace and resilience, achieving many milestones and touching countless lives. Her legacy of love, strength, and exemplary character will live on in those who knew her. The family is eternally grateful for her life, example, and the enduring love she shared.
