SABA KIFLE MEBRATU'S BRIEF LIFE STORY

Saba Kifle Mebratu was born on August 10, 1955, in Dessie, Ethiopia to her father Ato Kifle Mebratu and Weizero Elsa Ghebrezgi.

After completing her primary and secondary education in Dessie, she moved to Addis Ababa and worked in various capacities for government entities including the Ministries of Education and Industry.

In 1998 she migrated to the United States and continued her service in the field of medical coding for many years. Saba was free spirited and full of life! She was loved by her many childhood friends who are more like siblings to her. Saba had great passion for knitting and crocheting; she enjoyed knitting beautiful scarfs and gifting them to her friends and family. She was also known for her simple and nutrition-based cooking.

Saba passed away on November 9, 2025 after a lengthy illness.

Great appreciation for Seife Zerufael, her brother in Christ, who cared for her especially during her time of illness until her passing! Great thanks to her best friend, Tsehay GebreAmlak as well! Saba is survived by her siblings: Haregewein, Tsebaot, Yordanos, Mahtem, Yonas, Solome, Thomas, and Sofonias, and a host of extended families along with her loving friends.
